Conduct a full-scale intervention with ShineLA rolled out to the entire city. An estimated 150,000 individuals will participate in a study to track activity metrics, LA Recreation and Parks usage, and mental and physical health.
Continue to monitor impact of ShineLA on physical activity levels and engagement with programming. Use data from the study to help inform policy that will create lasting systemic change.

ShineLA will partner with a wide range of community stakeholders and community-based organizations whose input and active participation will shape strategy, programming, and interventions.
The City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks (RAP) provides stewardship to a vast park system that includes 446 parks, 184 recreation centers, and more than 16,000 acres of land. RAP is one of LA City's most comprehensive social service providers, committed to creating a park system that is safe, accessible, equitable, and offers an array of diverse, enriching recreational programs. RAP was a founding partner of ShineLA and will continue as the major provider of physical activity opportunities for this initiative.
ArtCenter faculty and students in the Designmatters social innovation department developed the concepts for the brand, storytelling and digital ecosystem for ShineLA, creating a holistic approach to disseminating messages to people of all ages and abilities.
Discovery cube original center is located in Orange County, as well as their newer Los Angeles campus, gives those seeking immersive, interactive science activities a way to jump into the learning fun. In addition to their campuses, educational outreach programs remain a major part of their mission.
The CDPP is an alliance of university, public, private and government sector partners working together to enhance community participation among Canadians with physical disabilities.
